The Linus Pauling Institute's Micronutrient Information Center is a source for scientifically accurate information regarding the roles of vitamins, minerals, other nutrients, dietary phytochemicals (plant chemicals that may affect health), and some foods and beverages in preventing disease and promoting health. All of the nutrients and phytochemicals included in the Micronutrient Information Center may be obtained from the diet, but many are also available as dietary supplements.

Research Newsletters

The Linus Pauling Institute publishes Research Reports twice annually, highlighting our ongoing research. For examples of previous Newsletters and Research Reports or to receive future editions of our Research Reports by mail, select the "Research Newsletter" link in the main navigation menu.

Vitamin, Mineral Information

The information on vitamins and minerals from the the Linus Pauling Institute's Micronutrient Information Center is available in a book titled "An Evidence-based Approach to Vitamins and Minerals: Health Benefits and Intake Recommendations." The book can be purchased from the Linus Pauling Institute or Thieme Medical Publishers.

Dietary Phytochemical Information

The information on dietary phytochemicals from the the Linus Pauling Institute's Micronutrient Information Center is now available in a book titled "An Evidence-based Approach to Phytochemicals and Other Dietary Factors." The book can be purchased from the Linus Pauling Institute or Thieme Medical Publishers.

The Linus Pauling Institute Micronutrient Information Center (MIC) was created by Jane Higdon, Ph.D., who died in a tragic accident in 2006. If you would like to support the maintenance and continued development of the MIC, please consider making a donation to the Jane V. Higdon Memorial Fund. Note "Jane V. Higdon Memorial Fund" on your check or online in the Comments box of Step 2.
